How verification works / creating an account
Discover Juno is an ID-verified app that requires your State or Provincial government ID image and in-app selfie to complete ID and facial verification.
After confirming your state or provincial ID’s Sex Status presents and F, and your selfie matches your ID’s photo, you can immediately post to Juno and scan for other available walk / ride / social requests from other local women.
All ID image submissions are destroyed from all systems post account verification.
Discover Juno does not sell profile data to third party groups.
What if my ID isn’t recognized during signup?
Challenges with immediate in-app account verification can be caused by:
• In-app Selfie and Government ID photos are too dissimilar (ie. smiling, glasses, hair, lighting, hat);
• ID documents appear tampered or damaged;
• Unrecognized federal government IDs (ie. international students or newly immigrated women);
• IDs for trans members who have corrected their Sex Status from F to M.
The team at Juno certainly recognizes that women from these groups live, commute, work, and socialize under even higher risk levels as victims of gender based violence. In instances where the Juno app has declined your ID match, we always encourage women to use our Personal Account Application. The form requires similar information as the app, with the addition of two reference letters of recognized community organizations. These applications typically take 72 hours to confirm and process.
